How to measure correctly

Measure around your bare abdomen at the level of your navel, standing relaxed, at the end of a normal exhale, with the tape snug against the skin but not compressing it. Measuring at a different landmark, over clothing, or while pulling the tape tight will all skew the result and make readings hard to compare over time.
